A little tidbit on the earliest commando's which were eventually named Fastback. It has come to my attention that the earliest odd condition besides the widow maker frame, was that the primary had a separate alternator stator mount. This was carried over from the featherbed primaries which had separate steel sheet metal primary and cast aluminum stator mount.So before 68 was done, that bikes drive train got the one piece aluminum primary we know today..
