I'll try to expand the metric commando frame topic.
Starting in the 73MY, Norton may have exceeded the Renolds production limit or high cost became a factor. A long standing Italian company Verluchi , was hired to make commando frames. The nearest metric tubing was used, and the rear loop is a slightly different contour. Identifiable yes but generally insignificant,
It is suspected a few got used on late 73-750.
The dreaded commando rear loop overload sag prompted minor added support at the rear shock mount area. Renold and Verluchi.
Then for the 75 model year the whole commando range was upgraded Renold and Verluchi
rough draft for now
More to be added and corrected.DJC

The MK3 frames also had brit and metric frames same as above but with these additional characteristics.
VIN plate skew (sitting in driver position)
Brit skewed left and metric skewed right

The rear rear loop supports differ from earlier S2B frames, in that these had been placed on the left side of either the left or right loop tubes...this accommodated the locking mechanism on the MKIII "hinged" seat

This is the new steering lock stop. Lockable at both the left or right position.

Only the brit frames had Renold manufacture dates stamped on the upper gusset plates behind the Z plates
