I was advised by my local parts store that WIX filters were on sale until today. I did a bit of research and while the old 31352 is still almost $10 on sale I found the Ducati and harley 16x1.5mm filter at $5.71. It is wix PN 57013. The sale is basically over but It's still cheaper than the old 1352#. It is a tiny filter at 2-1/2" tall but is still just fine and is a 20 micron filter.

For those who might be interested but have not seen my oil filter web page: AGTS oil filter article

I know not everyone likes Emgo, but last year I was in a bind and ordered 8 (number 10-26910) from Summit racing at $6.55 each. I'm interested in your opinion of these filters as I did not see them in your article. Note that my 1972 Combat didn't have ANY filter before I restored it, and no sump screen either. So I figured the Emgo filters, even if not the best, would be a 1,000% improvement! I also use them on my 73 A and 74 , although I experimented with an adaptor on the 73. Worked ok provided you used thread locker when you installed it, but I like standardization as it simplifies the spare parts inventory.

Rocky Point Cycle offers an adapter (part # 5915, $12.95 + 5.95 postage) that allows the use of:
WIX 51215, Fram PH6022, or any filter that fits Harley-Davidson XLH models from 1986 (883, 1100, or 1200cc models).

Wix 51348, or any equivalent filter that fits Chrysler 82>, GM cars, 85>, Jeep’02>, Lexus 90-01, Saab, 67-01, Saturn, 91-01, Suzuki 86-01, Toyota 88>.

That can be purchased at any auto parts store for cheap money.

Bill.

I had an EMGO a long time ago and it was absolute garbage with horrible threads and I doubt I used it. It may still be on my "wall of shame".
The metric to UN thread adapter has been around for a LOOOOOONG time and is OK. Probably the first time I was it was 20 years ago from Jim Nnll/ British Bike Connection.
I don't like FRAM, if you see me personally I will tell you the story.....
