I have a 70 commando with issues The left cylinder is running very hot. I still have the dual carburetors on it. Spark on right cylinder seems weak. Should I adjust carburetor? Change to electronic ignition?

You should check the ignition timing to insure that both sides are the same. If the timing is the same, then carburation is likely the problem. It could be the cables are no longer synchronized or the carbs have been damaged or clogged by E-10 corrosion. A load cell/dyno run would home in on the exact cause in short order.
