I'd be curious to try -107 quad-x o-rings @ about 15 cents a piece when bought in bulk.
Would it be better than a plain small o-ring in the body of the early tach drive or the small o-ring on the shaft of the later type or even better than the current modified designs?
They would likely work on early and late style housings. However the machining of the housings might need to be a bit more precise than for the hammer-in Honda or Chicago Rawhide seal.
The housings thrust surface is pretty much machined away for either the Honda or CR seal, but would partially remain for the quad X.
