An open question, I finally took the barrels off Lee's bike and had them machined and refitted with 20 thousandths over pistons and rings (I do hope this cures the oil burning issues).
How important is it to torque the barrel bolts (other than just tightening till you think it is tight enough). I can not get a traditional socket on any of them. Looking for suggestions and or solutions. Dan |

Moved the topic to "tech talk"
You would have gained more information with a leak down test, which is better and different information than a compression test. After both leak down and a compression test are completed then the head coming off and separately tested can give a pretty good diagnosis. So now you are still guessing? Not sure what is wrong with your tool selection since all bolts and nuts except the 3 bottom nuts are quite readily torqueable with convention 3/8 drive british sockets. Show you this saturday after tech session....

Well I messed up on that one good....
Dan wanted the BARREL procedure and not for the cylinder head. Since he was here yesterday, I cleared that up. |
