Tony Lockwood sent the magneto for my 1966 Atlas to a guy in Ohio that he trusts. That was months ago, and we still don't have the magneto back. Are there places more local that can rewire a magneto properly? I've heard that there might be a place in New Bedford that can do good work.

It is very likely that Skip Brouland (216-644-4671) [email protected] has your mag.You should give him a call and find out what is the hold up or what stage the rebuild is at....
The concept of "wiring up the mag" is incredibly naive, as I have done many, and it is like assembling a watch with an extreme degree of precision. Rewinding an armature alone is extremely difficult without a proper machine winder. Most armature rewinds are almost always farmed out.
IMO the "guy in mass" has extremely low credibility based on prior stories of super long delays.
Maybe he has gotten his life straightened out?

Thanks for the information, Dave. Skip Broland is the guy - I remembered his name when I saw your reply. I will contact Skip directly. By the way, I attended the Christmas party at your place in 2012. I was very impressed with your shop. Tony has a great shop, too, but yours blew me away.
