After 5,6 ? speedometer drives, the last one went tits-up 10 miles into the ride to the rally last year, I decided to go with the Smiths electronic. It is made in Wales, all the parts, I am told. The tripmeter and odometer toggle, but you have to wire in your own switch, none on the instrument. ( WTF).
I mounted the magnetic bolt on the rear disc and the pick-up on the caliper plate, It probably won't be noticed. The instrument mounts in the origional cup, looks great. I will be mounting a toggle switch next. Then I will be wiring everything with 18 gage wire. When that is done I will have to ride with a GPS and calibrate it.

Wiring complete, all connections soldered and sealed. I installed a toggle button on the dash, to change from odometer to trip.Next is good weather (warm), ride it with a GPS to calibrate it. Just to make it more interesting, one of the (9) wires coming out of the speedometer was a different color than any of the ones shown in the instructions.
