Presidents Message

We had a very good meeting at Gary Cole,s Shop. Thanks to Gary for hosting the October meeting. Again, thank you to Gary and others, for supplying food to cook on the grill. As always at meetings away for a Pub, its BYOB! Only 1 person brought a six pack so we were a bit shy on adult beverages, ( hint, hint!). After the business was done a question came up about ethanol fuel stabilizer. Cave Comeau gave a brief explanation on fuel stabilizers, and what brands to avoid, and advice on winterizing your old motorcycles.
Again, the next meeting will feature YOUR secret family recipes, like Mike Pappas’ chili. Bring them to Jim Winnings for the Annual Meeting/Christmas-Holiday Party. Did I mention BYOB? I will be bringing my favorite distilled Mexican beverage, and some local micro-brew.
The January New England Norton Owners meeting will be at Rolf’s Pub, 39 Main St North Andover. If you would like to host a meeting or have one at another Pub, let me know.

I have been in contact with Marc Bouchard the Nations Chapter Norton Owners about the Rally in 2017. It will be here:
www.virginia.org/Listings/PlacesToStay/GlenMauryParkCampground/

This is what Marc said about facilities:
“Mike, thanks for reaching out and the offer.  I certainly appreciate it.  I'll keep you posted if we need some manpower or something as our needs emerge.

I'm afraid the campground itself doesn't have cabins.  There are other places nearby.  The lodging list at the link below has a number of suggestions from Econo Lodge to swanky B&Bs.  Also looking at lodging near Buena Vista, VA may yield more results.  It's a start anyway.  As I generate more leads I'll pass them on.  When you look for a place to land several hundred people in the Mid-Atlantic near decent roads options get rather thin and something has to give unfortunately.

We will do our best to make it a good event for our guests..
Thank you again for your support..
Regards,
Marc “

They have them on sale periodically if you can wait, just get on the mailing list.

I bought one of the Harbor Freight lifts several years ago and am very happy with it. I am satisfied with the overall quality. I replaced the vise type chock with a roll-on type which makes it easier when loading a bike without assistance. One word of advice......the darn thing is very heavy so bring a truck capable of carrying a heavy load when you pick up.
